Handling of personal data

In the Student Ombudsman's work, personal data is handled, which is regulated by the Personal Data Act, PUL. From 25 May 2018, personal data is be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

All information that the Student Ombudsman registers has been voluntarily provided by the student or received by the university during the work with a case. Personal data is stored only to the extent necessary for the Student Ombudsman to be able to work with the case. The cases are compiled in an anonymised student case report and are screened regularly thereafter.

As a student, you always have the right to request a register extract to check what information is registered with the Student Ombudsman and the Student Ombudsman is obliged to correct information that is incorrect, incomplete or misleading.
